Most of the children in Samar and Almagro island regions are far too poor to ENABLE them to recieve a decent College or High school education. They are caught in a ‘ poverty trap’.
In my recent missionary journeys to the Philippines, I have pledged myself to help the poor young people and children in these regions to receive help for many to have a decent education. The vision is to help the young ones who are held captive by the bondage of poverty and lack of education. They will be set free to dream of a prosperous future. They will be able to break the cycle of poverty that is enslaving them and their families. They will know about the loving grace of Jesus Christ and have opportunity to give their lives to him.
The parents of these children and young people often work for next to nothing! Many fathers work as ‘ pedal taxi drivers’. This means that in the blazing Filipino sun they pedal customers from place to place FOR ONLY 5 PISOS a JOURNEY! They are too often far poor to send the children to school or college.
I am seeking sponsors for these precious ones AND/OR people who will be willing to seek out sponsors to help . The students are split into three groups. Firstly there are the ' elementary' young children of around 6 to 7 years of age. Just 500 pisos per month ( 6 pound sterling - $12) will pay for their Uniforms, shoes, school supplies, tuition, school fees, school project and transportations.make it possible for the child and youth to obtain an education. The second group are high school students; these also can recieve education for 500 pisos per month.
The college students are the third category and their education will cost 1000 pisos per month ( 12 pounds sterling - $24).
